Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I currently accept Cigna insurance through my affiliation with Jessica Croce & Associates Psychotherapy.

I am otherwise an out-of-network provider. As a convenience, Jessica Croce & Associates Psychotherapy offers direct submission of out-of-network claims, meaning claims can be submitted to your insurance company on your behalf for potential reimbursement.

Reimbursement depends on your individual plan’s out-of-network benefits, deductible, and co-insurance, and cannot be guaranteed. Jessica Croce & Associates Psychotherapy sets fees and manages all billing.

How much is your fee?

My standard fee is $175 for a 45-minute therapy session.

Do you offer a sliding fee scale?

I offer a limited number of sliding-scale slots for individuals who are unable to pay my standard fee. Availability is limited, and any special fee arrangement would be discussed during the intake process.

What kinds of people do you work with?

My practice has a particular focus on working with men, including executives, professionals, creatives and performing artists, entrepreneurs, gay and bisexual men, and others navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use, eating concerns, or questions around sex or identity.

Many of the men I work with appear successful on the outside but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected in important areas of their lives. I also welcome women and adults of all genders facing similar challenges.

I’m also a member of the Backline referral network, which connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health and wellness resources.

How long is each session?

Sessions are generally 45 minutes each. There may be circumstances where longer sessions may be especially helpful. In such cases, I will discuss this with you.

How frequently are sessions held?

Sessions are typically held weekly. In some circumstances, meeting more frequently may be helpful, and we can discuss this together depending on your needs.

When should I see a therapist?

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy to better understand themselves, improve relationships, manage stress, or navigate life transitions.

If something feels off, stuck, or unsustainable in your life, therapy can be a meaningful place to explore it.

What should I talk about in therapy?

You can talk about whatever feels important to you. Some people come in with a specific concern; others begin by describing how they’ve been feeling or what has been weighing on them.

I’ll help guide the conversation when useful. Therapy is a nonjudgmental space to speak openly and honestly, at your own pace.

What is therapy like with you?

Therapy with me is warm, direct, and collaborative. We’ll focus on what’s bringing you in now while also paying attention to longer-standing patterns — how you handle stress, relationships, emotions, and the expectations others place on you or that you place on yourself.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, but I don’t believe in rigid methods or one-size-fits-all treatment. Depending on your needs, our work may also draw from relational, somatic, mindfulness-based, and other therapeutic approaches. Some sessions may be exploratory; others may be more practical.

Therapy isn’t about quick fixes, but it should feel purposeful. Over time, many people notice increased clarity, improved relationships, greater emotional range, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.

How long will therapy take?

The length of therapy depends on what you’re looking to address and how the work develops over time. We’ll check in periodically to make sure therapy feels focused, relevant, and genuinely useful.
