Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I currently accept Cigna insurance through my affiliation with Jessica Croce & Associates Psychotherapy (JCAP).
Otherwise, I am an out-of-network provider. As an added convenience, we offer direct submission of out-of-network claims. This means that we will take care of the paperwork and submit the necessary documentation to your insurance company on your behalf for potential reimbursement.
Please note that while we will handle the claims process, the actual reimbursement amount is subject to your specific insurance plan's out-of-network benefits, deductibles, and co-pays. We cannot guarantee the outcome, but we will make every effort to assist you in maximizing your eligible benefits.
JCAP sets fees and handles all billing.
How much is your fee?
My standard fee is $175 for a 45-minute therapy session.
Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
To make high-quality therapy more accessible, I offer a sliding fee scale for those who are unable to pay my standard rate for a limited number of individuals per week. JCAP will discuss special fee arrangements with you.
What kinds of people do you work with?
I work with men and women of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, men’s issues, substance abuse, self-esteem, spirituality, and sexuality and gender issues. I also work with individuals facing life transitions, career challenges, relationship struggles, health problems, and other stressful issues.
I specialize in working with men from diverse backgrounds, including working professionals, artists, entertainers, and students. My practice embraces diversity and is open to individuals from all walks of life, ensuring a supportive space for everyone’s therapeutic journey. I also provide LGBTQ affirming therapy, and I particularly understand the struggles experienced by gay and bisexual men.
I’m honored to be a member of the Backline referral network, an organization that connects music industry professionals with mental health and wellness resources. I am also a member of Manhattan Alternative, a national network of Kink, Poly, & LGBTQ affirming providers.
How long is each session?
Sessions are generally 45 minutes each. There may be circumstances where longer sessions may be especially helpful. In such cases, I will discuss this with you.
How frequently are sessions held?
Sessions are typically held weekly; however, there may be circumstances where more frequent sessions would be beneficial.
When should I see a therapist?
If you’re dedicated to enhancing your well-being and achieving a more fulfilling life, then embarking on a therapeutic journey may be the right step for you. It’s a common misconception that therapy is only for those grappling with “mental illness” or severe “psychological issues.” However, therapy is a valuable resource for everyone. Individuals often seek therapy purely for personal growth and understanding.
What should I talk about in therapy?
I invite you to bring your full, authentic self to therapy and discuss whatever you feel at ease discussing. Often, I’ll prompt you to express whatever thoughts arise. Rest assured, I will provide a listening ear filled with empathy, care, and unconditional acceptance, free from any judgment.
What is therapy like with you?
Therapy with me is interactive and collaborative, and I foster deep, meaningful connections. I create a warm, safe, and accepting environment where we'll explore together the unique threads of your experience that make you who you are. We'll work together to identify recurring patterns and explore how you relate to others. By linking your past to the present, you'll gain clarity that leads to long-term growth and greater self-acceptance. It's important to remember that therapy isn't about quick fixes; it's a gradual exploration that requires patience and dedication.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy; however, my practice is not limited to just one method or approach. I tailor my therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual and draw from various theoretical models and techniques including psychodynamic, relational, somatic, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT). I'll check in with you regularly to assess how therapy is working for you and adjust accordingly.
Communication with your therapist is key. I encourage you always to share whatever is on your mind, including our work together.
How long will therapy take?
The length of therapy can vary widely, based on the nature of the changes you’re seeking and the range of issues you’re addressing. For many, therapy proves to be profoundly rewarding, leading them to embrace it as a sustained part of their lives.
