Meet Chris

I’m a therapist in New York City with a particular focus on working with men. I also welcome women and adults of all genders facing similar challenges.

Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, substance use, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or questions around sex and identity. I offer in-person therapy in Manhattan near Grand Central and Union Square, as well as virtual therapy for adults throughout New York State.

I’m a straightforward, nonjudgmental therapist who values honesty, curiosity, and practicality. My goal isn’t to pathologize you or tell you how to live, but to help you understand the patterns that keep getting in your way and develop healthier, more sustainable ways of relating to yourself and others.

What is therapy with Chris like?

Therapy with me is active, thoughtful, and collaborative. It is a place to slow things down, speak honestly, and better understand the patterns showing up in your life and relationships.

We’ll focus on what’s bringing you in now while also paying attention to longer-standing patterns: how you handle stress, relationships, emotions, and expectations placed on you by others or yourself. Together, we’ll work to understand how past experiences may be showing up in the present so you can respond with more clarity and choice.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, but I don’t believe in rigid methods or one-size-fits-all treatment. Depending on your needs, our work may also draw from relational, somatic, mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral, and other therapeutic approaches. Some sessions may feel more exploratory; others may be more practical. I check in regularly to make sure therapy feels useful and that we’re moving in a direction that makes sense for you.

Therapy isn’t about quick fixes, but it should feel purposeful. Over time, many people notice increased clarity, improved relationships, greater emotional range, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.

“Chris is an amazing therapist who managed to create a safe space for me to open up and feel supported in a judgement-free zone. Highly recommend him.” -B.C.

Who does Chris work with?

II work with men in New York City, including professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives and performing artists, gay and bisexual men, and men who are used to handling things on their own but are beginning to feel that something needs to change.

Many of the men I work with are outwardly capable, thoughtful, and responsible, but internally feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to change patterns that keep repeating. Some are struggling with the pressure to perform, difficulty asking for help, conflict around intimacy, or the feeling that life looks fine from the outside but does not feel that way inside.

While my practice has a particular focus on working with men, I also welcome women and adults of all genders who connect with this approach and are facing similar challenges.
